Ashley Alexander - EK Class of 2004

Ashley Beswick - EK Class of 2005
Ashley will be attending Michigan State University to study Zoology and Veterinary Medicine. Ashley loved being a part of the EK Cheer teams and wishes the best to all!!
Alona Blake - EK Class of 2004
Alona cheered four years sideline and three years Varsity Competitive, including on the awesome 2004 State Champ Runner Up Team!!! She received All-Area, All-Conference, All-Region and All-State awards, as well as the 2004 MVP!!! She is on the GVSU co-ed cheer team and is studying to become a secondary school teacher.
Vanessa Cao - EK Class of 2004
Vanessa cheered 4 years sideline and 4 years Varsity Competitive at EK, including the 2004 State Champ Runner-Up Team. She received All State, Academic All State, All Region, All Conference and All Area - 2nd team, and she also received the prestigious Sam Sasso Award her senior year. She is currently attending GRCC and studying to become and orthodontist. She will be co-coaching Valleywood Middle School's 7th grade cheer team and assists the All Star Team at The Edge in Kentwood.
Michelle Fryling - EK Class of 2004
Michelle is currently attending the Air Force Academy Prep School and is on the Huskies' cheer team.
Carmen (Saunders) Roberts - EK Class of 1983
Carmen was an EK cheerleader for 4 years, (1980-1983) 2 years JV and 2 years Varsity and received the Sam Sasso Cheerleading Award in 1982.
After graduating high school, she coached the Valleywood squad for 2 years and then the EK freshman team for 1 year.
She says she loved her cheerleading days at East Kentwood and still remembers the School Song Fight Song. (at least the way we did it back then)! She resides with her husband, Branson, and 4 children: Megan, Tyler, Austin and Lauren in Easton PA.
She is proud that her daughter, Lauren, has taken an interest in the sport and is following in mom's footsteps.
Carmen is happy to see our website and all that East Kentwood is doing to keep this sport alive and up to date!!
Nettie Rogers - EK Class of 2005
Hey guys! It's Nettie! I just wanted to give some info about my years at EK and my future plans. The years that I cheered at EK has made me the person that I am today! I thank God for all the support my team and I recieved from all the coaches and parents! I love you all and will miss you dearly! I will be coming back to visit throughout the upcoming year. In the fall I will be attending Western Michigan University where I will be majoring in Social Work and Criminal Justice. Love Nettie... Nettie was by far the toughest and most inspriational member of any EK Cheer team. She was awarded the EK Cheer Booster Scholarship Award in 2005!!!
Gina (Jones) Schwartz - Gina was onthe 2000-2001 Varsity Compeititve Team. She currently lives in Wichita Falls, Texas with her four year old son. She is a manager at Gamestop.
Janai Smith - EK Class of 2005
Fortunately, I was able to work with an awesome group of young ladies that truly were very talented. Last season was a learning experience for me :-). Altogether, my time at Kentwood was valuable and I have learned a lot. Love to all of my fellow cheerleaders!!! WE READY... Come and visit me at Eastern Michigan University.. O and if you need your make-up done HOLLA......
Aislinn (Talbott) Kruisenga - EK Class of 1996
Aislinn cheered on the first EK competitive team to place at states. She received the Sam Sasso award and currently is a nurse at Spectrum Blodgett and coaches our JV teams.
Annette Thom - EK Class of 2003
Annette cheered 4 years at EK; 2 years on Varsity Sideline and Competitive. She was captain of both teams her senior year and received the EK Sam Sasso Award. Annette is presently in her second year at GRCC and is planning a career in elementary education. Annette coached the EK Freshman competitive team in 2003-2004. She is one of our biggest fans!!!
Anna Thompson - Class of 2004
Anna is a freshman at Grand Valley State University this Fall. She is on the girls' cheer team and is still undecided about a major. She teaches gymnastics at Champion Gymnastics in Holland.
Stacy Zbikowski - Class of 1996
Stacy was on our first team at EK to ever place at State for sideline competition, and was voted Most Spirited both years on Varsity. She now works for Foremost Insurance as a graphic and web designer and coaches Varsity football sideline cheerleading for Grandville. She also works with mentally impaired adults through the Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department.
